A large cake pan would work, but remember, if you are cutting the pizza in that pan, you will be making marks in the bottom of it so you will need to use parchment paper later for your cake batter because the bottom of the pan will no longer be smooth.
Also, pizzas usually require a higher heat to cook and most cake pans aren’t built to tolerate 450-500 degree heat. They can warp. Sheet pans would be better but won’t give you the deep crust. Just a thought. Do you have a heavy duty roasting pan? That should work.

Besides round cake pans, I also have used my sheet cake pan and my jelly roll pan. I wouldn’t buy a special pan for deep dish unless I thought I was going to make it lots of times. I don’t have enough storage space to buy specialty pans or utensils all the time!

I don’t see why you couldn’t use a cake pan. Just make sure to grease the pan, you may also want to put a little corn meal in it as well.

You could really use any pan deep enough to make your desired crust. Just make sure to grease the pan well so it doesn’t stick.
